Steps to Improve Energy Efficiency |
| |
|
Step 1: Have a home performance energy
audit conducted...
-
An energy audit measures air leakage, air quality,
moisture level, and appliance efficiency and
safety in your home.
-
Provides
cost-effective recommendations to achieve up
to
a 50% reduction in energy use.
-
The
audit can usually pay for itself in the
first year that improvements are made.

Step 2: Make home weatherization and
efficiency improvements to your home...
When the energy audit is complete you will
receive a Home Performance Audit Report. We will
recommend comprehensive improvements that will
yield the highest energy savings at the lowest
cost. In addition to estimates of fuel and
energy bill savings, the report will include
information on the return on investment that can
be expected from the project. Any or all
of the following types of home weatherization and efficiency improvements could be
recommended:

Step 3: Implement low cost energy savings
measures...
There are many things we can do at home to save
money and walk lighter on the Earth. See
